Margaret Lawrence University is inviting applications from suitably qualified and dedicated academics for the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in Medical Microbiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Conduct high-impact, independent, and collaborative research leading to publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and mentor students in their academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum review, departmental administration, and academic committee assignments.
- Engage in clinical duties and community service initiatives relevant to the department's mandate.
- Maintain compliance with the academic and ethical standards of the university and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Possess an MBBS or BDS as a first degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (such as FMCPath, WACP, PhD, or equivalent) appropriate for a Senior Lecturer rank.
- Demonstrate a strong track record of teaching, research, clinical, and scholarly experience commensurate with the position.
- Provide evidence of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Active registration with the relevant professional regulatory body alongside a valid and current practising licence.
- Proven capacity for effective teaching, academic mentorship, and institutional service.
