About the Role
Al-Hikmah University, a premier private conventional university in Ilorin, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Senior Lecturer to join our prestigious Department of Languages. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the academic and moral development of our students while contributing to the vibrant intellectual community of our institution. We are looking for an expert in Literature-in-English who is passionate about teaching, conducting groundbreaking research, and mentoring the next generation of scholars in alignment with our motto of Learning for Wisdom and Morality.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Literature-in-English with a high standard of academic rigor.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local, national, and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Participate actively in departmental, college, and university-wide administrative duties and committee work.
- Contribute to curriculum development and review to meet contemporary educational and industry standards.
- Mentor students academically and morally, upholding the core values and mission of the university.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Literature-in-English or a closely related relevant field from a reputable and recognized university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching, research, and administrative experience at the university level.
- Strong portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international academic journals.
- Active membership in relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
