Greenland University, Jalingo, the first private university established in Taraba State, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and experienced academic to join our Faculty of Science and Computing. We are currently looking for a passionate Senior Lecturer in Data Science to inspire the next generation of tech leaders and contribute to our growing academic community in Jalingo, Taraba State.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Lecturer in Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our curriculum and driving institutional research goals. Your core duties will include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Data Science, machine learning, statistics, and related computing subjects.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conducting impactful, original research and publishing findings in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals.
- Contributing actively to curriculum development, course design, and departmental administration.
- Mentoring students and junior academic staff, fostering a culture of academic rigor and innovation.
- Engaging in community service initiatives and representing the university at academic conferences and professional forums.
To be considered for this prestigious academic position at Greenland University, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a PhD Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of continuous academic experience at the rank of Lecturer I.
- Demonstrate a strong publishing record with at least 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, including a minimum of 3 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Show demonstrable ICT proficiency and advanced digital competence relevant to modern data science education.
- Hold active membership in relevant professional bodies.
- Possess a mandatory NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
