About the Role
Vision University, a newly established, private, faith-based institution in Ikogbo Town, Ogun State, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional for the position of Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Security Studies. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 and mentored by Lagos State University (LASU), we are committed to delivering world-class tertiary education and robust academic research.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in Criminology and Security Studies to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement for the department.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional administrative duties, committee work, and academic mentoring.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives aligned with the university's core values.
- Must possess a good Ph.D. degree in Criminology, Security Studies, or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A strong track record of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and collaborate effectively within a diverse academic community.
