About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Senior or Lead Engineer to join our founding team for a groundbreaking digital asset infrastructure project. In this high-impact role, you will work directly with our founder and legal counsel to own end-to-end architecture decisions, shaping the future of regulated fintech in Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Architect core digital-asset infrastructure, regulated settlement flows, KYC/KYB, custody, and compliance reporting systems from scratch.
- Make foundational technical decisions on custody and system design that directly influence our licensing posture and long-term market defensibility.
- Design a robust API layer specifically built for seamless bank and enterprise integration from day one.
- Partner directly with legal and compliance counsel to ensure system designs strictly meet real regulatory requirements without guesswork.
- Navigate a dynamic regulatory environment and strategically scale the engineering team as we transition beyond the founding stage.
- Minimum of 7 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior, lead, or founding-engineer role owning architecture end-to-end.
- Proven experience building complex financial infrastructure such as payments, settlement systems, ledgers, or banking-adjacent platforms.
- Strong backend and cloud architecture skills (AWS or equivalent), with a strong focus on audit readiness, compliance, and access control.
- Solid working knowledge of blockchain and distributed-ledger concepts including wallets, custody, stablecoins, and tokenization.
- Familiarity with African fintech ecosystems, payments, or navigating live regulatory sandbox processes with bodies like the SEC or CBN is a strong advantage.
