Hampshire Heights Global Company Limited (HHGCL) is a prominent information technology and management consulting firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. We specialize in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and technical project management tailored for global multinationals and public sector organizations across Africa. We are currently seeking a talented and driven Senior Java Engineer to design and maintain scalable microservices powering our next-generation core banking and digital financial platforms, ensuring seamless banking and payment integrations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Java Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building robust backend systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable microservices powering core banking and payment platforms.
- Build and secure robust REST APIs for seamless third-party banking and payment integrations.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code using modern Java frameworks and design patterns.
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional product, QA, and DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity with HHGCL, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud ecosystem.
- Extensive experience in developing REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
- Strong relational database management skills using Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), build tools (Maven/Gradle), and automated testing (JUnit).
- Prior hands-on experience with core banking systems such as Flexcube, Finacle, or major payment gateway integrations is a strong advantage.
- Educational background: BSc degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower OR HND with a minimum of Upper Credit.
- Mandatory completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Previous professional experience working within the banking, fintech, or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
