About the Role
Guangdong Cworth Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Power Electronics to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will spearhead the design, troubleshooting, and optimization of cutting-edge inverter hardware and power electronics. You will serve as the technical bridge between our local operations and our China-based R&D team, translating market needs into superior product solutions while mentoring local engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, troubleshoot, and improve existing inverter hardware and power electronics designs to boost performance.
- Design, review, and optimize power stages, control boards, protection circuits, power supplies, and communication interfaces.
- Review schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, component selections, and technical proposals from global partners.
- Identify root causes of hardware failures and implement effective corrective and preventive engineering solutions.
- Support prototype development, rigorous testing, validation, debugging, and product improvement from concept to production.
- Evaluate technical recommendations from the international R&D team using simulations, testing, and practical expertise.
- Develop and execute comprehensive hardware testing procedures covering thermal, load, protection, and reliability aspects.
- Train and mentor local engineers in power electronics, inverter hardware, PCB design, and failure analysis.
- Prepare technical documentation, design standards, test reports, and support the long-term product roadmap.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- 5 to 10+ years of practical R&D experience in power electronics, specifically with inverters, UPS, solar systems, or battery energy storage.
- Strong hands-on expertise in PCB schematic design, circuit debugging, component selection, and hardware development.
- Deep understanding of MOSFETs, IGBTs, DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverter stages, gate drivers, SMPS, and thermal management.
- Proficiency in utilizing oscilloscopes and advanced electronic laboratory test equipment.
- Familiarity with Chinese manufacturing environments or embedded systems is considered a strong added advantage.
- Must be willing to work onsite at our Festac or Alaba location in Lagos, Nigeria.
