About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior General Manager, Mechanical to oversee plant maintenance operations at our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will hold overall responsibility for the safe maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring maximum production efficiency and product quality across our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive maintenance strategy to accomplish overall organizational objectives.
- Initiate, manage, and scale plant maintenance programs based on cement industry best practices, emphasizing preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Review plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Enforce strict safety programs, guidelines, and work procedures across the mechanical maintenance department.
- Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.
- Direct cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, and manpower.
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of twenty-seven (27) years of proven experience in the repairs and maintenance of heavy cement manufacturing equipment.
- In-depth technical knowledge of cement plant maintenance and the end-to-end cement manufacturing process.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong management, data gathering, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and computerized maintenance management systems.
