About the Role
Join the Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, as our new Senior General Manager, HEMM. In this critical leadership role based in Lagos, Nigeria, you will oversee the comprehensive maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of our heavy earth moving machinery. You will drive operational excellence, ensure strict adherence to safety standards, and optimize resource allocation to support our expansive mining and manufacturing operations across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and schedule maintenance resources for all equipment used for mining operations.
- Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the execution of scheduled work plans and unplanned emergency and breakdown work.
- Determine work sequence and assignments based on priority, equipment availability, and manpower.
- Ensure the highest maintenance standards are applied and maintained while strictly managing operational costs.
- Ensure all team members work safely and comply with corporate and industry safety standards and best practices.
- Perform other strategic duties as assigned by executive management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 25 years of extensive professional experience in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM).
- In-depth, demonstrated knowledge of mining operational workflows and equipment maintenance processes.
- Exceptional diagnostic, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of leadership in a large-scale industrial or mining environment.
