About the Role
Pula is an agricultural insurance and technology company that designs and delivers innovative agricultural insurance and digital products to help smallholder farmers endure yield risks, improve farming practices, and bolster incomes over time. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Field Coordinator to lead seasonal execution, farmer registration, and critical yield measurement surveys across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, train, and manage Field Coordinators, Supervisors, and Enumerators in remote rural settings.
- Lead large-scale farmer sensitization, registration, and profiling campaigns using digital tools like the Mavuno app.
- Execute Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) and ensure complete data integrity for index-based insurance payouts.
- Enforce strict quality assurance standards through frequent field visits, spot-checks, and minimum 20% back-checks.
- Coordinate seamlessly with local stakeholders, government extension agents, and client field staff.
- Submit detailed regular progress reports and handle field-level logistics, equipment maintenance, and expense tracking.
- 3 to 5+ years of progressive experience in field-based supervision of agricultural, development, or rural data collection teams.
- Proven expertise in farmer profiling, yield measurements, and digital data collection platforms at a regional scale.
- Strong background in implementing rigorous quality assurance protocols and resolving field challenges in low-connectivity areas.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and accountability-driven management skills under tight seasonal deadlines.
- Willingness and stamina for extensive rural travel (up to 80% field time) and demanding working conditions.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital data tools.
