About the Role

Contemporary Group Limited, a multi-disciplinary consortium of architects, engineers, and property developers, is seeking a dynamic Senior Electrical Resident Engineer to act as the client's technical representative on-site. In this crucial MEP supervision role, you will oversee electrical contractors to ensure that power distribution, ELV, lighting, and earthing systems are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across our landmark projects in Lagos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous, continuous field inspections of electrical installations including cable routing, conduit layouts, and panel terminations.
  • Identify installation errors, sub-standard wiring, and unauthorized deviations, issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as necessary.
  • Witness and certify critical electrical testing and commissioning phases such as megger tests, earth resistance tests, and phase load balancing.
  • Review and approve contractor BIM models, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical data sheets.
  • Audit monthly progress valuations, evaluate variation orders, and defend the client against unsubstantiated project costs.
  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian Building Codes, NERE/distribution company regulations, and LASBCA requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.Eng/B.Sc) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Mandatory active registration with COREN as a Registered Engineer.
  • Corporate membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or NIEEE.
  • Minimum of 10 years of total post-qualification experience in building services engineering with a blended contractor and consultant background.
  • Deep expertise in BS 7671, IEC standards, and extensive knowledge of MV/LV infrastructure and ELV systems.
  • Valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
