About the Role
SIMS Nigeria Limited, a leading distributor of major electronics brands such as Samsung, Royal, and Parsun, is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Audio Visual Technician to join our growing service team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive top-tier technical support and flawless audio-visual system performance across our operational locations in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and commission AV equipment including televisions, projectors, sound systems, amplifiers, and display systems at customer locations and showrooms.
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults in AV equipment, carrying out precise repairs and component replacements in line with approved procedures.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend product lifecycles.
- Provide exceptional technical assistance and guidance to customers and internal departments regarding equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Handle assigned warranty-related technical issues, ensuring all repairs meet quality standards and turnaround time targets.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, parts used, repairs, and equipment status while adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Minimum of an OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in AV installation, electronics repair, or technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of audio and visual hardware, cabling, signal flow, and standard AV interfaces.
- Proficiency in using testing equipment to diagnose electrical and electronic faults accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills with a readiness to travel to client sites when required.
