About the Role
WTS Energy, a leading global manpower supply and consulting firm to the energy sector, is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer for our operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will act as the Electrical Technical Authority, supporting the Principal Electrical Engineer to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective power systems for major oil and gas projects and facilities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage contractor performance, and ensure strict adherence to international and local regulatory standards across all project phases from FEED to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical assurance, governance, and leadership as the primary Electrical Technical Authority.
- Lead electrical engineering designs for power generation, distribution, motor control, and protection systems.
- Ensure full compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and Nigerian regulatory standards including NMDPRA and NESIS.
- Spearhead hazardous area classifications, arc flash protection, and comprehensive electrical safety risk assessments like HAZOP and SAFOP.
- Manage electrical scopes through FEED, detailed design, construction, offshore/onshore installation, and commissioning.
- Review and approve critical engineering deliverables, manage change processes, and support incident investigations.
- Supervise contractors and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining rigorous quality control.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of dedicated electrical engineering experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Proven hands-on experience working on offshore platforms, FPSOs, or major onshore terminals.
- Active membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and COREN registration.
- Extensive expertise in power systems, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and generators.
