About the Role
Paystack is transforming online commerce across Africa by building modern, reliable payment infrastructure designed for millions of daily transactions. We are seeking a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join our high-performing infrastructure team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure optimal system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Own infrastructure and deployment projects end-to-end, designing technical solutions that are scalable, maintainable, highly available, and fault-tolerant.
- Build robust end-to-end automation pipelines and own the CI/CD architecture to minimize downtime and enhance developer productivity.
- Design secure systems, manage secrets effectively, implement zero trust models, and lead major incident responses and postmortems.
- Proactively tackle ambiguous and high-risk problems, introduce innovative ideas, and simplify complex distributed system environments.
- Participate in architectural evolution, software development activities, and help debug and diagnose complex system issues.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role within fast-paced environments.
- Deep expertise across a variety of AWS services, Kubernetes at scale, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python, Node.js, Bash, or Golang.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD or GitHub Actions, alongside monitoring and alerting stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
