About the Role
Vennote Technologies Limited is a well-established ICT enterprise with over two decades of global experience in delivering world-class IT solutions. We are currently expanding our cutting-edge AI and Natural Language Understanding product lines and seeking a dynamic Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this hybrid contract role, you will spearhead the development of advanced chatbot services, machine learning models, and cross-channel user interfaces, collaborating with top-tier software engineers, NLP experts, and UI/UX designers.
Key Responsibilities- Build comprehensive descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical data models to drive product intelligence.
- Source, clean, and prepare diverse datasets including conversational data, FAQs, and customer support transcripts.
- Develop, train, and optimize machine learning algorithms and transformer-based chatbot models using frameworks like Rasa, Dialogflow, or Amazon Lex.
- Write complex SQL queries in BigQuery, manage ETL pipelines, and connect data sources to Google Data Studio for real-time visualization.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and developers to write user stories, define analytics requirements, and deliver technical documentation.
- Monitor Google Cloud metrics, evaluate model performance, and continuously iterate to improve user engagement and response accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist building advanced analytical data models.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Jupyter, Pandas, and Dask.
- Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and Natural Language Processing techniques such as tokenization, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition.
- Hands-on experience with chatbot frameworks and Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, PubSub, and Dataflow.
