About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. We provide millions of businesses with the payment, banking, credit, and management tools they need to succeed, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to scale our data infrastructure to the next level.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain robust data pipelines processing large volumes of data efficiently.
- Update and optimise our data platform for speed, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with different functional teams across the organization to understand and meet their unique data needs.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy.
- Solve complex, general data-related problems to support business growth and decision-making.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience as a Data Engineer.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and strong programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong drive to learn new technologies.
