About the Role
Givanas Group of Companies is a leading name in the manufacturing and distribution of premium Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), including dairy, canned seafood, and personal care products tailored for the Nigerian market. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Senior Cost and General Ledger Accountant to join our expanding manufacturing team.
In this critical role, you will spearhead the establishment and management of our factory's costing and general ledger functions. You will ensure absolute financial accuracy, robust inventory valuation, strict budget control, and full compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies, directly contributing to our operational excellence and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Manage comprehensive product costing, standard costing, BOM costing, and detailed manufacturing cost analysis.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Maintain and thoroughly reconcile the General Ledger and balance sheet accounts.
- Monitor inventory valuation, stock movements, and analyze production variances.
- Support strategic budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing cost control initiatives.
- Execute seamless month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with IFRS, Nigerian tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to enhance financial performance.
- Facilitate internal and external audit processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ICAN.
- Minimum of 7 years of robust finance experience specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven hands-on expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and General Ledger management.
- Deep understanding of inventory accounting, production costing, variance analysis, and factory overhead allocation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
