About the Role
Kashia Limited is a modern workforce platform built for Africa that connects companies with verified talent, automates human resources tasks, and manages secure escrow transactions. We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to help scale our robust infrastructure and empower the African workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build scalable backend services in Go, backed by PostgreSQL.
- Own API design and documentation for services consumed by web and mobile clients.
- Improve reliability, observability, and performance of existing backend systems.
- Review code and actively mentor mid-level engineers on the engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams to scope and sequence feature delivery.
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on Go.
- Strong SQL proficiency and advanced relational data modelling skills.
- Proven experience running high-traffic services in production on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code basics.
- Exceptional written communication skills suited for a fully remote, async-friendly team environment.
- Experience with payments, banking, ledger systems, event-driven architecture, or open-source contributions is a strong plus.
