We are currently seeking a dynamic and technically sound Senior Associate, Tax to support the delivery of our tax compliance, planning, and advisory activities across diverse business portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tax computations, returns, and supporting schedules for accurate and timely filing.
  • Track statutory filing and payment deadlines, proactively escalating potential compliance gaps.
  • Reconcile tax accounts with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • Review transactions and commercial documentation to ensure appropriate tax treatment.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and assess the tax implications of contracts, investments, and business transactions.
  • Research changes in tax legislation and prepare insightful summaries of their business implications.
  • Support tax audits and investigations by preparing documentation, responding to queries, and tracking outstanding issues.
  • Liaise professionally with tax authorities and external advisers as delegated by the Tax Lead.
  • Support cross-border tax reviews, transfer pricing documentation, and related compliance activities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records, audit trails, and evidence of filings and payments.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and operational teams to resolve complex tax matters.
  • Contribute to improvements in tax processes and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline.
  • Relevant professional certification from ICAN, ACCA, or CITN is strictly required.
  • Minimum of four years of progressive experience in tax compliance, corporate taxation, or advisory.
  • Prior experience in the energy, oil and gas, commodities trading, or top-tier professional services sector is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian taxation laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of international taxation principles and transfer pricing is an added advantage.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, research, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
