About the Role
Kaplo Africa is Africa's most innovative Human Resource & Business Support Solutions provider, delivering cutting-edge business advisory and human capital solutions across diverse sectors. We are currently looking for a commercially minded, technically strong Senior Accountant / Head of Finance to lead our organisation's finance and accounting function. This is a critical leadership role specifically designed for a finance professional with hands-on experience within regulated financial environments such as commercial banks, merchant banks, finance houses, lending companies, microfinance banks, or FinTechs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the company's comprehensive accounting and finance operations.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor robust financial controls, accounting policies, and processes.
- Provide management with timely financial analysis, risk mitigation strategies, and actionable business insights.
- Coordinate statutory financial reporting, external audits, and tax-related activities while ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
- Drive automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the finance function, while supervising and mentoring the team.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting and finance work experience.
- Mandatory hands-on accounting experience within regulated financial institutions, commercial banks, microfinance banks, or FinTechs.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting standards, ERP software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
