About the Role
Genesis Group, a leading Nigerian conglomerate spanning hospitality, entertainment, and industrial catering, is seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our expanding operations, ensuring strict regulatory compliance, and providing actionable financial insights to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, schedules, and journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements regularly to maintain financial integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS and other relevant Nigerian financial and tax regulations.
- Assist with corporate tax filings, statutory audits, and coordinate requests from external auditors.
- Analyze budget variances, cost structures, and financial data trends to support strategic decisions.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the daily work of junior accounting staff to foster professional growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA is strongly preferred.
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a large conglomerate, hospitality, or oil and gas servicing sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial software.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and Nigerian tax laws.
