About the Role
The People Practice is partnering with a leading co-educational secondary school in Nigeria to appoint a strategic, experienced, and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive board, you will oversee the school's entire fiscal framework, drive sustainable growth, and ensure long-term financial health in an inspiring educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate, manage, and oversee fiscal affairs including budget development, financial planning, reporting, and payroll administration.
- Advise the board on financial matters, regulatory compliance, and strategic resource allocation for optimal operational efficiency.
- Direct the annual budgeting process, collaborating with school leadership, parent-teacher associations, and stakeholders.
- Monitor accounting activities, generate expenditure forecasts, and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Build and lead high-performing finance, accounting, and payroll teams, fostering professional growth and performance management.
- Maintain strong public relations with community leaders, businesses, and parents while representing the institution professionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CFA.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least several years in a senior executive role.
- Strong proficiency in enterprise-level ERP and financial management systems, with experience using XERO as a distinct advantage.
- Proven expertise in corporate governance, tax strategy, risk management, financial planning, and board-level reporting.
