About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University, a prestigious public institution established in 1962 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, is seeking a qualified and proactive Security Officer II/Safety Officer II to join our vibrant academic community. Spanning a vast expanse of land including academic units, student residences, staff quarters, and research facilities, our institution requires robust safety protocols to protect students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a secure and conducive environment for learning and research.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor campus premises, including academic areas, student hostels, and staff quarters, to prevent and detect security breaches.
- Enforce university safety policies, regulations, and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and internal security teams to manage incidents and investigations.
- Conduct regular safety patrols, risk assessments, and vulnerability audits across the university estate.
- Provide prompt reports on security anomalies, safety hazards, and breaches of protocol.
- Assist in organizing safety awareness training and drills for students and university staff.
- Five O Level credit passes including English Language obtained at not more than two sittings.
- Possession of an HND or Bachelor Degree in relevant fields such as Criminology, Security and Crime Management, or Cyber Security.
- A minimum of 3 years of cognate professional experience in security operations or safety management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
