About the Role
UNICEF operates in Nigeria to advocate for the protection of children's rights, help meet their basic needs, and expand opportunities to reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a dedicated Security Manager (P-4) to advise country office management on security duties and responsibilities in accordance with the UN Security Framework of Accountability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of strong security risk management processes and security strategies across the country office.
- Coordinate security activities with the UN Security Management System (UNSMS), UNDSS, and INGO partners under the Saving Lives Together policy.
- Contribute to the development of Security Risk Management (SRM) assessments, Security Plan measures, and emergency procedures as a member of the UN Security Cell.
- Monitor security compliance, manage security services, and provide programmatic security information and analysis.
- Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building regarding security protocols among staff.
- Advanced university degree in security risk management, international relations, conflict resolution, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience in security risk management and/or analysis, with significant international experience in emergency or conflict contexts.
- Demonstrated understanding of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) and humanitarian access strategies.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN official language or a local Nigerian language is an asset.
