About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Fraud Desk Analyst to join our dynamic risk operations team in Lagos. In this critical, round-the-clock role, you will be on the front lines of defense, actively monitoring and investigating live transactions to protect our platform, merchants, and customers from financial crime.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor live transactions and fraud alerts in real-time to proactively detect suspicious or unusual financial activity.
- Review, investigate, and make quick decisions on flagged accounts and transactions by holding, blocking, or releasing funds in accordance with internal fraud policies.
- Escalate complex, high-risk cases to senior management and specialized internal teams promptly.
- Document all investigation findings meticulously and maintain accurate case records for auditing purposes.
- Handle fraud-related inquiries and support requests efficiently from customers, merchants, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify emerging fraud trends, patterns, and anomalies to help refine and improve our automated detection rules and operational processes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing fraud activities, metrics, and case outcomes for senior team review.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree with 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in fraud monitoring, risk management, transaction monitoring, or payments operations.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to review complex data sets, spot underlying patterns, and make sound, objective decisions under pressure.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
