We are currently looking for a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Secondary School English Teacher to join our vibrant academic community. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping students' language proficiency, critical thinking, and literary appreciation while maintaining our high standards of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze all prescribed books and supplementary resources thoroughly to develop comprehensive, engaging lesson plans and curricula.
- Collaborate closely with English department colleagues to design innovative teaching strategies, lesson units, and student intervention programs.
- Prepare students effectively for both formal and informal internal and external assessments.
- Grade tests, quizzes, assignments, and examinations accurately, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain open communication with parents, students, fellow teachers, and guidance counsellors to address academic underperformance and celebrate achievements.
- Organize enriching literary events, guest speaker sessions, and educational field trips to enhance experiential learning.
- Bachelor's degree in English Language, Literature, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Strong working knowledge of advanced English topics and international curricula such as Cambridge IGCSE, A-Level, or equivalent.
- Proven expertise in modern classroom management techniques and school administrative procedures.
- Proficiency in educational technology and computer applications to support hybrid or digital learning environments.
- Up-to-date knowledge of 21st-century teaching methodologies, pedagogical trends, and interactive English instruction.
- Valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certification will be considered a distinct advantage.
