About the Role
Pan-Afrique Maritime Limited, a wholly indigenous Nigerian leader in ship management, crewing, and maritime consultancy, is seeking a skilled Second Officer (Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer) to join our dynamic offshore operations. We are fully registered with NIMASA and dedicated to protecting the interests of indigenous seafarers while delivering world-class maritime services.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system during offshore operations, ensuring the safety and stability of the vessel at all times.
- Assist the Master and Chief Mate with navigational watchkeeping, cargo operations, and overall deck department management.
- Monitor weather forecasts, sea conditions, and position-reference systems to plan safe operational maneuvers.
- Conduct routine maintenance, testing, and calibration of DP equipment and associated bridge instrumentation.
- Ensure full compliance with international maritime regulations, STCW standards, and company safety management systems.
- Supervise junior deck crew members and contribute to safety drills and onboard training initiatives.
- Hold a valid STCW II/2 Unlimited Certification of Competency.
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in rank on the same vessel type within the offshore sector.
- Proven hands-on experience with Azimuth Propulsion systems.
- Valid mandatory offshore certificates, medical fitness certificates, and travel documents.
