About the Role
Pan-Afrique Maritime Limited, a wholly indigenous maritime company registered with NIMASA, is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Second Engineer to join our expanding offshore operations in Nigeria. We specialize in top-tier ship management, manning, and crewing services, committed to protecting and advancing the interests of indigenous seafarers while delivering excellence to our global clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chief Engineer in the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all main propulsion machinery and auxiliary equipment onboard.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company safety management systems, and environmental policies.
- Monitor machinery performance, troubleshoot mechanical faults, and conduct routine inspections of engineering spaces.
- Supervise junior engine room crew members, providing mentorship and ensuring adherence to safety protocols during operations.
- Maintain accurate logs of fuel consumption, spare parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Participate actively in emergency response drills, fire-fighting procedures, and pollution prevention operations.
- Minimum of 24 months of rank-based and same vessel type offshore experience.
- Valid STCW III/2 certification.
- Possession of an Unlimited DP Maintenance certificate.
- Valid maritime medical fitness certificate and standard STCW safety training modules.
