About the Role
New Incentives is a US-based nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives in developing countries through health-related cash transfer programs. Operating in Nigeria, we provide conditional cash transfers to pregnant women with at-risk pregnancies, encouraging them to seek vital medical care. We are currently seeking a proactive and vigilant Safety & Security Officer to join our dynamic team and safeguard our operations and personnel in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain regular communication with field staff and monitor high- and medium-risk clinics to provide timely security updates and advisories.
- Engage with community stakeholders and security networks to assess risks and ensure safe operating conditions prior to clinic visits.
- Review reported low-risk security incidents, investigate details, and coordinate appropriate action plans with Field Managers.
- Assist the Security Manager and Assistant Security Manager in conducting comprehensive security assessments of operational clinics, LGAs, and vendor facilities.
- Support critical incident management by taking initial reporting steps and executing delegated duties under the guidance of senior security leadership.
- BSc or equivalent in a Social Sciences discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar humanitarian or NGO security role.
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Hausa, with excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Prior background in security forces (military or paramilitary) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct context analysis, think critically, and solve problems under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to reside in the designated operational zone and conduct frequent field visits on short notice.
