About the Role
Enugu Air Limited is a rapidly expanding, state-owned airline established by the Enugu State Government to transform the region into a premier global logistics and investment hub. We are currently seeking a vigilant, proactive, and detail-oriented Safety Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS). In this vital role, you will help monitor safety performance, identify operational hazards, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization in line with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and international standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation and administration of the Company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Monitor daily operational activities to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and potential risks.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, and audits across various operational areas.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and documenting safety hazards and developing mitigation strategies.
- Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, occurrences, and safety-related events thoroughly.
- Prepare and maintain accurate safety reports, logs, records, and investigation documentation.
- Escalate significant or urgent safety issues promptly to the Safety Manager or designated leadership.
- Bachelor degree or HND in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Mandatory possession of an NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption letter.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in aviation safety, occupational health and safety, quality assurance, or compliance.
- Prior experience working within an airline, airport, MRO, or broader aviation environment is a distinct advantage.
- Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
- Familiarity with NCAA regulations and applicable ICAO safety standards.
