About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Manager to champion our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across our projects and offices. In this pivotal role, you will protect our workforce, minimize environmental impact, and ensure our construction activities strictly align with Nigerian legislation and international standards like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor company HSE policies, approved safety plans, and procedures across various project sites and offices.
  • Conduct rigorous hazard identification, risk assessments, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all high-risk construction activities.
  • Enforce compliance with Permit-to-Work systems, scaffolding, lifting operations, and safe work practices while retaining the authority to halt unsafe work immediately.
  • Coordinate comprehensive site inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted safety training to cultivate a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead thorough incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor environmental controls, waste management, pollution prevention, and occupational health and welfare facilities on site.
  • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly HSE performance reports, track KPIs, and manage internal safety audits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of cognate HSE management experience within the Nigerian construction or conglomerate sector.
  • Professional safety certifications such as NEBOSH, HSE Level 3/3+, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian HSE legislation, regulatory frameworks, and construction safety best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
