About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading consultancy and human resource development firm in Nigeria, is seeking a qualified and physically resilient Rope Access Welding II professional. In this critical role, you will combine advanced industrial welding expertise with specialized rope access techniques to execute complex projects safely and efficiently within the oil and gas, marine, and construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute rope-access welding and maintenance tasks in strict accordance with approved site procedures and safety access plans.
- Inspect all ropes, harnesses, anchors, connectors, and specialized access equipment thoroughly before every shift.
- Support welding, NDT, inspection, coating, and repair activities while maintaining secure and ergonomic positioning at height.
- Establish clear exclusion zones and maintain continuous, effective communication with the ground and work teams.
- Record completed work activities, identify structural defects, take precise measurements, and report equipment status.
- Participate actively in rescue planning, daily toolbox talks, comprehensive risk assessments, and permit-to-work controls.
- Relevant degree, HND, OND, recognized trade qualification, or professional certification appropriate to welding and rope access disciplines.
- Valid IRATA certification or recognized rope-access competence appropriate to the assigned role level.
- Demonstrated industrial, construction, oil and gas, or marine sector experience.
- Strong commitment to HSE standards, working-at-height safety awareness, and physical fitness required for demanding offshore and onshore environments.
- Possession of role-specific statutory, technical, offshore, and safety certifications as mandated by applicable industry standards.
