About the Role
Nasom Limited is a leading indigenous Oilfield Services Provider and EPCM company with diverse operations spanning marine logistics, dredging, and petroleum trading. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer to join our dynamic maritime team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient navigation and operation of our vessels, ensuring full compliance with international maritime laws and company standards while supporting our extensive offshore and coastal projects in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Master in the safe navigation, operation, and management of the vessel at all times.
- Manage cargo operations, ballasting, stability calculations, and deck maintenance procedures efficiently.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable maritime regulations, environmental laws, and company safety management systems.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate deck crew members to maintain high operational standards onboard.
- Oversee safety equipment inspections, emergency drills, and hazard identification protocols regularly.
- Maintain accurate navigation logs, cargo records, and official ship documentation.
- Possession of a relevant maritime certification and a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC).
- Up-to-date and valid STCW certification meeting international standards.
- Demonstrated sea-going experience in a similar maritime officer role.
- Valid medical fitness certificate recognized by relevant authorities.
