About the Role
Scruples Resources, a premier consultancy, resource development, and human resource provider for all sectors of the Nigerian economy, is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Rig Electrician Level II to join our offshore operations. In this vital role, you will ensure the optimal operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical electrical systems and equipment on the rig, maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair rig electrical systems and equipment to guarantee uninterrupted offshore operations.
- Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective electrical maintenance across all assigned installations.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical faults efficiently and report defects or regulatory non-compliance immediately.
- Ensure all electrical engineering work strictly meets applicable international safety standards and company procedures.
- Maintain electrical tools, precision equipment, spare parts inventories, and designated workspaces in optimal condition.
- Participate actively in routine safety meetings, offshore drills, and emergency response activities.
- Execute additional technical duties as assigned by the offshore installation manager or lead electrical engineer.
- Relevant qualification in Industrial Electrical Technology or equivalent recognized electrical trade certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a Rig Electrician on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible.
- At least 2 years of verifiable High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) operational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- High proficiency in utilizing advanced electrical testing tools, diagnostic equipment, and multimeters.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills suited for a multidisciplinary offshore team.
- Highly organized, safety-conscious, and professional with uncompromising integrity.
