About the Role
The Place, a premier brand operated by The Smackers Limited, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Restaurant Accountant to join our dynamic team in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity, monitoring budgets, and ensuring seamless day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process all financial transactions through sales and purchase ledgers from invoice receipt to completion.
- Reconcile bank statements with payment vouchers, purchase ledgers, and sales ledgers accurately.
- Perform monthly stock valuations, physical stock-taking, stock reconciliation, and variance reporting.
- Determine the costs of performances and activities to facilitate insightful financial analysis and comparisons.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, manage inter-branch account reconciliations, and monitor departmental budgets.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and NAV to record and process financial data.
- Minimum of a B.Sc or HND in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of cognate accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or retail sector.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics capabilities.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with hands-on experience using accounting applications like Sage, Peachtree, and QuickBooks.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Must currently reside in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
