About the Role
La Fayette Microfinance Bank Limited (Advans Nigeria) is seeking a meticulous and driven Account Officer to join our dynamic finance team. Since our establishment in 2012, we have been committed to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria by providing accessible financial services. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining our financial integrity, supporting operational growth, and ensuring seamless accounting processes as we continue our expansion.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions in accordance with company standards.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily cash positions to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries efficiently.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and management accounts.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to minimize financial risk.
- Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and expense control across departments.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit exercises by providing necessary documentation.
- Maintain proper documentation and systematic filing of all financial records.
- Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or ATS will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles, standards, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
