About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is acting as a recruitment gateway for a dynamic client seeking a dedicated Resident Engineer in Nigeria. In this vital on-site role, you will be responsible for network monitoring, hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and comprehensive technical support. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining optimal network performance, ensuring maximum uptime, and delivering exceptional service to enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor network performance proactively, resolving faults, latency issues, and service disruptions in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, CPEs, and related network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex fiber optic, microwave, wired, and wireless network environments efficiently.
- Liaise closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and the client internal IT team to escalate and resolve escalated technical issues.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, detailed incident logs, and regular performance reports.
- Bachelor Degree or HND in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on professional experience within an ISP, telecommunications, or enterprise network environment.
- Solid working knowledge of FTTH/FTTX, MPLS, VLANs, BGP, advanced routing and switching, and fiber optics.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or MikroTik will be a distinct advantage.
