About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and academically driven professional to join our esteemed institution as a Research Fellow II within the Centre For Federalism and Democratic Studies. This role offers an exciting opportunity for scholars passionate about advancing knowledge in governance, democratic processes, and federalism within the Nigerian context and globally.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality, impactful research in federalism, democratic studies, public administration, and related disciplines.
- Publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Contribute to the academic activities of the Centre, including workshops, seminars, and policy dialogues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on multidisciplinary research projects and grant applications.
- Mentor students and participate in departmental administrative duties as assigned by the University.
- A PhD or Master's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Law, Political Economy, Development Studies, Sociology, History, or a related discipline.
- A First degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- At least three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in recognized journals.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working or professional experience demonstrating strong research capacity and scholarly contribution.
