Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-impact academic and applied research in petroleum engineering and energy systems.
  • Publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals to enhance the Centre's research profile.
  • Secure research grants and collaborate with industry stakeholders on energy-related projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research endeavors.
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide committees, academic seminars, and professional conferences.
  • Translate research outcomes into practical innovations applicable to the Nigerian and global petroleum industry.
Qualifications
  • A PhD or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • A First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of active teaching or research experience in a tertiary institution or recognized research centre.
  • Demonstrated record of at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional industry experience with demonstrable evidence of scholarly contributions and research capacity.
