About the Role

Malaria Consortium Nigeria is seeking twenty qualified and detail-oriented Research Assistants to support an effectiveness-implementation hybrid study on the feasibility and effectiveness of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC/PMC) in Osun State. This short-term engagement aims to generate vital evidence to inform national health policy and reduce under-5 mortality rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monthly data collection, validation, and reporting from implementing health facilities across eight designated LGAs.
  • Extract outpatient department (OPD) and inpatient care (IPC) data for children under five from sentinel and private health facilities.
  • Utilize the designated DHIS2 electronic application for accurate data extraction, entry, and upload to the National Malaria Data Repository.
  • Fill data extraction gaps for the PMC project and support data validation during the rebound phase.
  • Participate in onsite review meetings with the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, State Project Manager, and State Implementation Officer.
  • Ensure timeliness, completeness, and high quality of all facility-level daily electronic reports.

Qualifications
  • HND or Bachelor Degree in health sciences, humanities, or social sciences.
  • Familiarity with the geography, culture, and primary healthcare systems of Osun State.
  • Prior experience working with primary healthcare facility workers as an independent research assistant.
  • Demonstrated experience in Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities, routine immunization, and data validation.
  • Proficiency in electronic data collection apps, structured checklists, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain data quality standards.
