Key Responsibilities- Research and identify newsworthy stories, trends, and developments across various economic sectors including oil, gas, power, banking, and politics.
- Conduct professional interviews with relevant individuals, corporate leaders, and key industry stakeholders.
- Attend press conferences, public events, and official assignments to gather accurate and timely information.
- Write clear, balanced, engaging, and objective news reports adhering strictly to journalistic ethics and standards.
- Develop original investigative leads and maintain a robust network of reliable news sources.
- Meet strict daily, weekly, and assignment-specific publication deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or a related academic discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of active journalism or professional reporting experience.
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, research, and verbal interviewing skills.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian media laws, journalistic integrity, and reporting ethics.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage time efficiently, and travel for out-of-station assignments when necessary.
