About the Role
Jean Edwards Consulting is seeking a technically-minded, systems-savvy individual to join our Abuja office. This role is ideal for someone who is genuinely comfortable with data, numbers, and software, and who wants to build specialist expertise in reinsurance estimation accounting. No prior insurance background is required as full training will be provided to the right candidate, making this an incredible opportunity to launch a specialized career with a leading consultancy.
Key Responsibilities- Work extensively within accounting and data systems to support reinsurance estimation accounting processes.
- Build, manage, and troubleshoot complex spreadsheets and system-based reports with high accuracy.
- Support the configuration, testing, and ongoing use of specialized accounting software and data tools.
- Assist with financial reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis using system-generated outputs.
- Identify discrepancies or system issues, proactively troubleshooting and resolving them.
- Collaborate with internal teams and IT colleagues to optimize broader operational workflows.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation within relevant systems and platforms.
- Strong technical aptitude with demonstrable experience using data, accounting, or business software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- Strong numerical ability and confidence working with complex financial figures.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software and enterprise systems quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data integrity.
- Must be based in or willing to commute to our Abuja office.
- Preferred: Background or qualifications in finance, accounting, or insurance, alongside familiarity with SQL or Power BI.
