About the Role
ColdHubs Limited is a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to eliminating post-harvest food losses across Africa. We design, install, and operate 100% solar-powered walk-in cold rooms that extend the shelf life of perishable goods from 2 days to 21 days. Operating in farm clusters and major markets across Nigeria, we protect the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and retailers. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Refrigerated Transportation Officer to join our logistics team and ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of temperature-sensitive goods through our refrigerated transport network.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily refrigerated truck operations seamlessly from dispatch to final delivery.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to guarantee timely product movement and customer satisfaction.
- Continuously monitor cargo temperature conditions during transit and escalate any deviations promptly.
- Track truck locations, fuel consumption, and overall operational status using fleet management tools.
- Supervise drivers and streamline logistics activities to foster efficient daily operations.
- Maintain precise digital records for all transportation, delivery, and inventory logs.
- Ensure the correct loading, handling, and secure packaging of perishable products.
- Monitor vehicle performance metrics and report maintenance needs or mechanical faults immediately.
- Enforce strict compliance with national food safety, cold-chain, and transportation regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing vehicle utilization, incident logs, and overall logistics performance.
- Liaise professionally with hub teams, customers, and internal departments to resolve transport issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of proven professional experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or cold-chain operations.
- Hands-on technical knowledge of refrigerated transportation and temperature-controlled supply chains.
- Familiarity with GPS fleet tracking and advanced transportation monitoring systems is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance protocols, route planning, and safety compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities under high-pressure scenarios.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern digital reporting platforms.
- High level of attention to detail with the capability to manage precise operational records.
