In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing all financial and commercial aspects of construction projects, from initial feasibility studies and cost planning to final accounts and dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and cost planning for proposed construction projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and robust project budgets.
- Prepare tender documentation and rigorously evaluate contractor and supplier bids.
- Negotiate advantageous contracts and procurement terms with various stakeholders.
- Administer construction contracts, ensuring strict compliance with all obligations.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project cash flow forecasts and regular cost reports.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize overall project expenditure.
- Measure completed works and accurately certify interim and final payments.
- Assess, value, and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and professional commercial reports.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable construction regulations and industry standards.
- Support dispute resolution processes and the finalization of project accounts.
- First degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Professional certification or active membership with a recognized quantity surveying institution is a strong advantage.
- Strong, practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standard industry contracts.
- Sound understanding of competitive procurement and tendering processes.
- Exceptional cost estimation, budgeting, analytical, and numerical abilities.
- Proficiency in specialized quantity surveying software alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
