About the Role
Sunbeth Global Concepts (SGC) is a leading Nigerian trading firm specializing in the export of premium agricultural commodities, including raw cocoa beans, cashew, and sesame. Renowned for our expertise in sourcing, quality control, and logistics, we are a trusted partner in the global supply chain. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Officer to join our dynamic team at either our Kano or Sagamu facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards of product excellence, ensuring that all sesame commodities meet strict domestic and international export specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine sampling of incoming, in-process, and cleaned sesame lots according to established quality assurance protocols.
- Conduct essential laboratory and physical quality tests, measuring parameters such as moisture content, foreign matter, purity, admixture, and insect infestation.
- Record test results accurately and legibly in laboratory logs, ensuring proper cross-referencing to specific lots and samples.
- Assist the quality management team with visual and physical inspections of incoming raw and processed sesame to verify lot conditions.
- Monitor daily adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and flag any deviations during routine operations.
- Maintain strict traceability of lots and samples from initial receipt through testing to final release or rejection, ensuring proper sample retention and labeling.
- Support final inspection and documentation activities for export shipments, compiling accurate quality data and certificates.
- Identify non-conforming materials promptly and report quality exceptions to the supervisory team.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of practical experience in quality control or laboratory operations, ideally within the agro-commodity or food processing sector.
- Familiarity with sesame or similar agricultural commodity quality parameters and testing practices is a distinct advantage.
- Relevant certifications in laboratory practice or quality control will be considered a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail, good record-keeping skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
