About the Role

Meyer Plc, a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-quality paints, coatings, and adhesives in Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and analytical Quality Control Chemist to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for excellence by ensuring that all raw materials and finished goods adhere to strict industry standards and internal specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and approve incoming raw materials to ensure they meet internal specifications and supplier Certificates of Analysis.
  • Monitor paint batches during production and thoroughly inspect finished products before release to the market.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quality tests, batch numbers, production deviations, and implemented corrective actions.
  • Identify non-conforming products promptly and recommend effective corrective measures to the production team.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in optimal condition and strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a B.Sc. or HND in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years of proven quality control or laboratory experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior working experience in the paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of paint properties, chemical formulations, and relevant quality standards.
  • Proficiency in operating various QC laboratory instruments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
