About the Role
Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, a market leader in the manufacturing and distribution of premium paints and coatings, is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Assistant to join our dynamic team in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating raw and packaging materials to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards and ISO certifications, contributing directly to our portfolio of trusted brands.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate bulk raw materials and packaging materials in line with approved quality control procedures and specifications.
- Conduct necessary laboratory checks, physical tests, and review test results prior to material release.
- Conduct periodic re-evaluation, proper identification, and storage of retained samples.
- Investigate material defects, perform root cause analysis, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage the identification and disposition of non-conforming materials in coordination with relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date laboratory documentation and support equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Prepare comprehensive quality control, investigation, and deviation reports for management review.
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related science discipline.
- Proven experience working in a quality control or laboratory environment, preferably within the manufacturing or paint and coatings industry.
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems, specifically ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent documentation skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
