About the Role
Marriott International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchasing Manager for the prestigious Four Points by Sheraton Ikot Ekpene in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee all procurement operations, inventory management, and vendor relations while ensuring strict adherence to brand standards, financial targets, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and payment processes for all property items, collaborating closely with the Executive Chef and F&B Director.
- Formulate and maintain an approved vendor list, negotiating optimal pricing and ensuring high-quality product delivery.
- Enforce strict inventory controls, FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation, and item use-up strategies to minimize waste and reduce controllable costs.
- Conduct accurate period-end inventories, audit invoices against shipments, and maintain precise bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, health, safety standards, and local statutory regulations across all purchasing and storeroom operations.
- Lead, train, and evaluate purchasing and storeroom personnel, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and high performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related major, combined with a minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a hospitality environment.
- Strong proficiency in utilizing computer systems, inventory software, and financial programs for data processing and report generation.
- Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills with a proven ability to lead teams and solve problems effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage costing, supply chain management, and financial accounting principles.
