We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Public Relations Strategist to join our corporate communications team in Nigeria and help steer our public narrative.
Key Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive PR and communications strategies aligned with OPay's core business priorities and growth objectives.
- Translate overarching company goals into measurable PR programmes, targeted campaigns, and clear messaging.
- Continuously assess public perception, stakeholder sentiment, and media narratives to unearth opportunities and mitigate potential brand risks.
- Design strategic media engagement plans spanning mainstream, business, broadcast, digital, and industry-specific platforms.
- Monitor emerging issues proactively, delivering early warnings and actionable solutions before they escalate into major reputation risks.
- Build and nurture robust relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers within the Nigerian media landscape.
- Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, English, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive professional experience in public relations, corporate communications, or reputation management.
- Demonstrated success in executing high-impact PR campaigns and navigating complex crisis management situations.
- Prior working experience or deep familiarity with the fintech, financial services, telecommunications, or technology sectors is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional command of written and spoken English, with the ability to simplify complex concepts into compelling narratives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professional maturity, and the ability to perform decisively under high-pressure conditions.
