Public Health Implementation Officer - Kano

About the Role

Helium Health is a leading healthtech company providing innovative SaaS-based electronic medical records and hospital management systems across emerging markets. We are currently looking for a dynamic Public Health Implementation Officer to lead our state-level project implementation in Kano. In this vital role, you will oversee field operations, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure that our digital health solutions successfully reach target communities, improving healthcare delivery outcomes.

As the Public Health Implementation Officer, you will drive project execution on the ground through the following core duties:

• Coordinate end-to-end implementation of programme activities in Kano State in line with approved workplans, timelines, and quality standards.
• Manage user recruitment and activation strategies across participating healthcare facilities, community health workers, and local communities.
• Supervise and mentor field teams and community health workers, setting performance targets and providing continuous operational guidance.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the State Ministry of Health, public and private healthcare facilities, and local stakeholders.
• Support capacity building and orientation for facility personnel and community workers on digital health tools.
• Track state-level performance indicators, maintain accurate implementation records, and prepare timely weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Ensure full compliance with data-protection requirements, organizational policies, and ethical standards across all field activities.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in public health programme implementation, field operations, or healthcare delivery.
• Demonstrated expertise in supervising field teams, managing stakeholder engagement, and driving community health initiatives.
• Familiarity with maternal and reproductive health programmes and digital health interventions is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, data-quality management, and reporting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Must be resident in Kano State and willing to travel regularly within the region.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in relevant local languages.
